These are slow-growing cacti used in rockeries, in cactus and succulent gardens, and are even suitable for pots. These cacti require full sun and high temperatures. They are able to withstand the occasional frost if the soil remains thoroughly dry. Watering should be more moderate than for most cacti, so we should wait until the soil has dried out thoroughly and even allow a few days of dryness before watering again.

The dormant period will begin in mid-autumn and end once spring has begun.
